Throttle Full Close Switch: Description and Operation

Closed Throttle Position Switch:

PURPOSE
The Closed Throttle Position (TP) Switch, mounted to the throttle body, is a small ON/OFF micro switch. The information provided by the switch is used by the Digifant I Control Module to calculate the appropriate values for the operation of deceleration fuel shut-off, and activation of special ignition timing maps.

OPERATION
The Digifant I Control Module supplies a reference voltage to the Closed Throttle Position Switch. When the throttle plates are closed the idle switch returns the voltage to the control unit unchanged, recognizing an idle condition. When the throttle plate is opened slightly, the idle switch circuit opens and interrupts the reference voltage, the Digifant I Control Module then recognizes a non idle condition.
