Power Window Regulator With Convenience System (automatic Opening And Closing), With Excess Force Limitation (pinch Protection)

With implementation of comfort window regulators, the window regulators are additionally equipped with toll both function and an excess force limiter.

Function with ignition switched on

Opening
By pressing and briefly holding lower edge of appropriate button, the window is completely opened by the automatic open function.

If button is pressed again, window stops immediately.

Closing
Due to automatic closing function, the window is closed completely by pressing and briefly holding upper edge of appropriate button.

Window stops immediately if button is pressed or lifted again.

Function of window regulator with ignition off
Window regulators can be operated for about 10 minutes after ignition is switched off as long as driver, passenger, sliding door or rear lid is not opened.

Opening
By pressing and briefly holding lower edge of appropriate button, window is completely opened by automatic opening function.

If button is pressed again, window stops immediately.

Closing
Push up front edge of button until window is completely closed. there is no automatic closing function.

If window in driver or passenger door is hard to move because of difficulty in movement or an obstacle (force limiter), window opens again immediately.

Should this happen, ignition must be switched on to close window again.

NOTE:
- Force limiter does not prevent window from closing until it is half closed.
- After vehicle battery has been disconnected and reconnected, toll booth function for driver and passenger windows does not work.
- This function (we also speak here of "Initializing and automatic lifting"), can be reset as follows:

Excess force limitation, overcoming difficulty
- Requirement: Automatic raising and lowering operation has been initialized (programmed)
- Ignition on

- Close window glass with window regulator switch (hold button down).

If a window is obstructed while closing, due to difficulty in movement or an obstacle, the window opens immediately (force limiter has responded).

- Press window regulator switch again (hold button down).

Window now closes up to obstacle and stops.

- In order to close window, press and hold window button. Window now closes past obstacle without force limiter until button is released or blocking recognition (window completely closed) has been performed.

NOTE:
- These switch operations must be performed without interruption by other operations
- (lowering, automatic lifting) and each occur within 5 seconds after window stops.

- Ignition off

If a window is obstructed during closing operation because of an obstacle, window opens again immediately (pinch protection/force limiter has responded).

Operation from inside with window regulator switch is not blocked.

If ignition is switched on within 1 minute after window is opened and then button is pressed within 5 seconds (close window), process is as for ignition on, starting from the second close.

Automatic window operation (raising), initializing and releasing

window operation from inside using switch (performed individually for each window)
- Ignition switched on
- Window open
- Operate switch until window closes.
- Release button.
- Press button until window stops at lower stop in seal.
- Release button.

- Window closed
- Press button until window stops at lower stop in seal.
- Release button.
- Press button until window stops at upper stop in seal.
- Release button.

These procedures are carried out unaware by the user in the scope of normal operation, even without knowledge of the initializing procedure.
