Checking Rear Window Wiper/Washer System

Use test system V.A.G 1466 for troubleshooting!

Test Condition:
^ Fuses no. 4 and 5 OK!
^ Rear wiper in end position!

Preparation for Troubleshooting:
- Remove rear window wiper/washer relay J30 (production control number 72) from relay location 2.
- Remove washer1wiper intermittent relay J31 (production control number 99) from relay location 8.
- Insert test adapter V.A.G 1466/3 into relay location 2.
- Connect V.A.G 1466 to test adapter.
- Switch on ignition.

Troubleshooting Procedure:
- Perform test steps according to table.
- If specified value/test result is obtained, proceed to next step (test result OK).
- If specified value/test result is not obtained, use table for troubleshooting and repair.
- Use applicable wiring diagram for wire testing.
- Disconnect test leads after each step.

NOTE:
- Steps 4 and 5 are used for vehicles with tailgate.
- For troubleshooting on vehicles with rear wing doors, rear window wiper motors in rear wing doors (V92 and V93) must be checked individually. In this case, the designation of the rear window wiper motor in the test program is different from the designation in the wiring diagram!
- If malfunction has not been eliminated after performing steps 1 to 5, replace rear window wiper/washer relay J30.

- After repairing malfunction, perform functional test of rear window wiper/washer system.
