Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Required for troubleshooting :
- Multimeter Fluke 83
- Connector Test Kit VW1594
- Valid wiring diagram

Before starting troubleshooting, battery negative terminal (-) must be securely lighted.

Prerequisite:
- Mechanism of Power Sunroof OK. Repairing Power Sunroof See Rep. Group 60
- S14 Fuse 14 (10A), located on relay-panel, OK !

EuroVan from May 1996 to August 1998:
- S83 Fuse 3 (20A), located on multiple fuse-adapter below fuse/relay-panel, OK !

EuroVan from September 1998:
- SB3 Fuse 3 (20A), located on fuse holder -B-below fuse/relay-panel, OK !


CAUTION!
DO NOT damage, enlarge or bend connector terminals or cavities by forcing probes into them when performing electrical checks. Always use connector test kit VW 1594 to make the necessary electrical connections.


Preparation:
- Remove Power Sunroof Control Module with relay-holder remove small metal relay-holder, located on the right side of sunroof motor)
- Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers

After repairing malfunction, please perform functional test of the Power Sunroof.
