Rear Lid, Removing And Installing







Removing
- Remove trim and/or remove rear lid molded trim.
- Disconnect connectors for rear window heating, license plate light, rear window wiper motor and central locking motor, if applicable, remove wiring from tailgate.
- Support rear lid.
- Lift locking clip - 1 - with screwdriver and pull gas-filled struts off ball pins on both sides.

NOTE: Do not pry locking clip - 1 - completely out of ball socket, otherwise clip will be damaged.

- Remove Phillips screws - 2 - from hinges and remove rear lid.

Installing
- If new rear lid is installed, it must be adjusted.
- Tightening torque:
- Phillips screw - 2 - 19 Nm
