Checking Power Windows
Required for troubleshooting:
- Multimeter Fluke 83
- Connector Test Kit VW1594
- Valid wiring diagram
Before starting troubleshooting, battery negative terminal (-) must be securely lighted.
Prerequisite:
- S14 Fuse 14 (10A), located on relay-panel, OK !
- S43 Circuit breaker (30A), located above fuse/relay-panel, OK !
- Supply voltage (battery-voltage) OK !
CAUTION!
DO NOT damage, enlarge or bend connector terminals or cavities by forcing probes into them when performing electrical checks. Always use connector test kit WV 1594 to make the necessary electrical connections.
Preparation:
- Remove cover from the relay panel
After repairing malfunction, check all functions of power windows, and "One touch up, one touch down" function.

"One touch up, one touch down" power windows
Function:
EuroVans may be equipped with a "One touch up, one touch down" power window function that will automatically open or close the power window with a single touch of the corresponding window switch. Pinch protection when closing is also included (window will automatically reverse if obstructed when closing).
To open window:
The function is initiated by pressing and briefly holding the front part of the corresponding switch. The windows will open completely. Repeated pressing of the corresponding switch will immediately stop the window. A single tap of the switch will open the window for approx. 15mm.
To close window:
The function is initiated by pulling and briefly holding the front part of the corresponding switch. The window will close completely. Repeated pressing of the corresponding switch will immediately stop the window. A single tap of the switch will close the window for approx. 15mm.
Resetting:
Please make sure that the power windows are mechanically ok, before resetting the "One touch up, one touch down" function. Operating the power window switches with ignition switched on should drive the windows to their respective end positions.
- Switch ignition OFF
- Disconnect negative (-) terminal from battery.
- Disconnect positive (+) terminal from battery.
The "One touch up, one touch down" function is disabled by disconnecting the battery. All values stored inside the power window control modules are deleted.
Activating
- Connect positive (+) terminal to battery.
- Connect negative (-) terminal to battery.
- Switch ignition ON.
- Press and hold all power window switches until all windows are completely open.
- Pull and hold all power window switches until all windows are completely closed.
"One touch up, one touch down" function is ready for use.

NOTE: Before troubleshooting, "One touch up, one touch down" function should first be reset and activated again!

Preparation:
- Enter the vehicle and sit down on driver's seat.
- Close driver's and passenger's doors.
- Switch ignition ON.
- Close windows completely.
