Component Notes And Information

NOTE:
^ During service procedures, refer to the illustration above and the information below
^ The sealing flange (item 7) can be removed and installed with the cylinder head installed
^ When stripping and assembling the engine, attach the block to an engine stand using 3269 bracket

1 Bolt
- Tighten to: 100 Nm (74 ft lb) + 1/4 turn (90°) further
- Always replace
- To loosen and tighten: counter-hold using 3406 tool
2 Vibration damper
3 Bolt
- Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
4 Oil seal
- Replacing. Service and Repair
5 Sealing flange
- Coat sealing surfaces with: AMV 188 001 02
6 Cylinder block
- Crankshaft
- Pistons and conrods
7 Sealing flange
- Coat sealing surfaces with AMV 188 001 02
8 Oil seal
- Remove using 2086 extractor hook
- Lightly oil sealing lip
- Install over 2003/2A sleeve
- Pull into stop using 2003/3 installation tool
9 Flywheel/Drive plate
- Dual mass flywheel
- Drive plate, removing and installing, refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
10 Bolt
- Tighten to: 60 Nm (44 ft lb) + 1/4 turn (90°) further
- Always replace
11 Bolt
- Tighten to: 25 Nm (18 Ft lb)
12 Bracket
- For coolant hose
