- VAG 1551/VAG 1552 Scan Tool using VAG 1551/3 adapter cable

Work sequence
- Connect Scan Tool.
- With engine idling, press buttons -0- and -1- to select "Engine electronics" address word 01. [1][2][3][4]Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes


NOTE:
If engine will not start:
- Operate starter for approx. 6 seconds and then leave ignition switched on.
- Press Scan Tool PRINT button to switch printer on.
- Warning lamp in PRINT button must light up

Select Function XX


- Press buttons -0- and -2- to select "Check DTC memory" function 02.
- Press -Q- button to enter selection.

The number of malfunctions stored or "No malfunction recognized!" will be shown on the display.


X malfunctions recognized!


- Press -> button until all stored DTC's have appeared and the display appears as shown.
- Press buttons -0- and -5- to select "Erase DTC memory" function 05.
- Press -Q- button to confirm entry.

DTC memory is erased!


NOTE:
If the ignition is switched off between "Check DTC memory" and "Erase DTC memory" the DTC memory will not be erased.


- If DTC memory was erased, generate readiness code again. Monitors, Trips, Drive Cycles and Readiness Codes
- Press -> button.
