Wheel Speed Sensor on Rear Axle
Component Notes and Information
NOTE:
^ During service procedures, refer to the illustration above and the information below
^ The hydraulic unit is located in the left front side of the engine compartment.
^ When removing and installing the brake lines/hoses, ensure they are marked and installed as per the markings on the hydraulic unit.
^ Brake lines/hoses must not be interchanged when reconnecting.
1 Hex bolt
- Always replace each time after removing
- Tightening torque on vehicles with four wheel drive:
Tighten to: 150 Nm (111 ft lb) and turn 90° further
- Four wheel drive vehicles, loosen and tighten only when vehicle is on its wheels (danger of accident)
2 Hub
- Pressing out and in, refer to Steering and Suspension
3 Circlip
- Ensure circlip is seated correctly
4 Wheel bearing
- Pressing out and in, refer to Steering and Suspension
5 Control arm
6 Bracket
- When installing, hook first into wishbone
7 Rivet
8 Hex socket head bolt
- Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
9 Speed, sensor
- Before inserting sensor, clean sensor mounting hole inner surface and coat with lubricant G 000 650, or equivalent
- Observe installation sequence: First install speed sensor and then sensor wiring, beginning at sensor and ensuring that rubber grommets are secured in their respective mountings
10 Tensioning disc with rotor
- Front wheel drive only
11 Self-locking hex nut
- Tighten to: 200 Nm (148 ft lb)
- Always replace
- Used on models with Front wheel drive only
12 Drive shaft With rotor for speed sensor
