Malfunction Display

NOTES:
- All the possible malfunctions which are recognized by the Transmission Control Module -J217- and displayed on the VAG 1551 when the DTC Memory is checked, are listed below grouped according to the DTC number.

- If malfunctions occur only occasionally or if the DTC Memory was not erased after correcting the malfunctions, these faults will be displayed as "Sporadic faults" for a stipulated period of time => transmission control module malfunction recognition.

- If components are indicated as being faulty when checking the DTC Memory additionally test wiring to the components for short and open circuits according to wiring diagram "Wiring Diagrams, Electrical Troubleshooting and Component Locations" Euro Van 1993.

- The DTC is printed out in the "rapid data transfer mode only when the printer of VAG 1551 Is switched on. Example: DTC (5-position) 65535.

NOTES:
- The Transmission Control Module -J217- should not be replaced and the system be restored to the basic setting until the possible cause of the malfunction has been determined and the following malfunctions have been corrected.
- mechanical malfunctions.
- hydraulic malfunctions.
- all affected electrical/electronic components and wiring connections.
