Fig. 12 Glow Plug Relay Socket:

1. Disconnect the glow plug relay from the relay holder and ground terminal L, Fig. 12. Turn the ignition switch to the run position and observe the indicator lamp. If the lamp does not illuminate, check the circuit to the lamp. If the circuit is good, replace the lamp.
2. If the indicator lamp operates properly in the preceding step, disconnect the red/white wire from the engine temperature sensor. Turn the key to the run position and ensure the light operates. After approximately 1 minute, ground the disconnected sensor wire and ensure the light goes out.
3. If the indicator lamp operates as outlined in the preceding step the engine temperature sensor should be replaced. If the indicator lamp does not operate as outlined above, the glow plug relay should be replaced.
