Parking Brake System: Adjustments

With Adjustable Brakes

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Loosen parking brake cable adjusting nuts.
3. Adjust rear brakes.
4. Pull parking brake lever to second notch.
5. Tighten adjusting nuts until neither rear wheel can be turned by hand.
6. Release parking brake and ensure that both rear wheels turn freely.
7. Tighten lock nuts.

With Self-Adjusting Brakes

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Firmly apply brake pedal one time.
3. Pull parking brake lever to second notch.
4. Tighten adjusting nuts until neither rear wheel can be turned by hand.
5. Release parking brake and ensure that both rear wheels turn freely.
6. Tighten lock nuts.
