Measurement Specifications

Measuring Cylinder Bore:

Cylinder Diameters [1]:
Standard: 81.01 mm (3.1894 in.)
1st oversize: 81.26 mm (3.1992 in.)
2nd oversize: 81.51 mm (3.2091 in.)

Cylinder Wear Limits:
Max: 0.08 mm (0.003 in.)
Max out-of-round: 0.04 mm (0.0016 in.)

Piston-to-Cylinder Clearance: 0.03 mm (0.0012 in.)
Max allowable: 0.07 mm (0.0028 in.)

Deck Warpage: 0.1 mm (0.004 in.)

NOTE: Mounting the bare cylinder block to an engine stand can distort its shape and cause inaccurate cylinder bore measurements. Always check cylinder bores with the block resting unstressed on a flat surface.

[1]: Measure cylinder bores in direction perpendicular to the crankshaft (A) and parallel to the crankshaft (B) at the top, middle, and bottom of piston travel. The top and bottom measurements should be made approximately 10 mm (3/8 in.) from the ends of the cylinder.
