Alignment: Service and Repair


To adjust camber, loosen both ball joint mounting nuts on lower control arm and install tools US 4490 and VW 552 or equivalent. Tighten tensioner nut to break joint loose from control arm, then loosen tensioner. Adjust tensioner nut until wheel has desired camber angle, then torque mounting bolts to 47 ft. lbs. and remove tools.




REAR

Camber on rear axle assembly is not adjustable.



TOE SETTING ADJUSTMENT

FRONT

The toe setting is adjusted by the right tie rod only on all models except Quantum. On Quantum and Fox models, the toe setting is adjusted by both tie rods, however, centering tool 3075 or equivalent must be used. Install tool with bracket over mounting nut on left tie rod.
Loosen clamp and locknut on tie rod. Rotate tie rod until specified toe setting is obtained, then tighten locknut securely.

REAR

Toe setting or rear axle assembly is not adjustable.
