Thermo Time Switch: Description and Operation

Thermo Time Switch:

The Thermo-time Switch is located in the cylinder head coolant outlet. The Thermo-time Switch controls the cold start valve operation. When the engine is cold the Thermo-time Switch is closed, allowing power to reach the cold start valve and operate it. When the engine is warm, the Thermo-time Switch is open and the cold start valve does not operate. To limit cold start valve operation and prevent flooding, electric current warms the Thermo-time Switch and opens the cold start valve circuit after a few seconds of starter operation.
