Performing toe adjustments on Volkswagen Fox requires special Tool #3075 (Locking Bar), used to center the steering gear. Installing this tool often requires removing or displacing the brake booster and removing the steering box cover screw. In order to prevent the above installation problems, Special Tool #3075 may be modified in the manner shown in the instructions below..

Once the modification has been made, all that is required to make the tool work is to loosen the steering box cover screw and fit the tool.

1. Make an 8(+.1) mm slot out of the inner most 8(+.1) mm diameter hole (marked by Letter "L" on tool) as shown below - Figure 2
