***THIS ARTICLE INCLUDES CHANGES MADE BY TSB # 308802, DATED SEPTEMBER 6 1988***

Adjusting freeplay:

1. Fully depress clutch pedal approximately 5 times.
2. Loosen locknut "A"
3. Install adjusting gauge US 5043 or equivalent as shown.
4. Raise clutch release lever at transmission until resistance is felt.
5. Adjust adjustment disc until zero freeplay is obtained.
6. Torque cable locknut to 5 Nm (3 - 4 ft lbs), then remove adjusting tool.

NOTE: After an adjustment is made to the clutch cable (arrow), the clutch freeplay is measured at the clutch pedal. Clutch freeplay at the pedal should be 5 to 15 mm (0.2 - 0.6 in.).
