NOTE: The piston and its sleeve, in the fuel metering distributor, are machined to a tolerance of .00025", and are a matched set. When handling these parts it is advisable to avoid any impact or damage as the parts are not independently replaceable.
1. Remove all fuel lines from the fuel distributor.
2. Remove the three screws that attach the fuel distributor to the air flow meter housing, and remove the fuel distributor.
3. Measure how far the stop screw protrudes from the nut at the control plunger Fig. 3.
4. Adjust the stop screw of the new fuel distributor to the height measured earlier.
5. Install the new metering distributor, and attach all fuel lines with new sealing rings.
6. Re-check the sensor plate rest position and free play.
