Starting Enrichment
Fig. 7 Differential Pressure Regulator Test Setup:
1. Connect differential pressure regulator test harness (VW 1315A/1) Fig. 7,, and hook up a multi-meter set for 0-200 mA.
2. Remove the coil wire from the distributor cap and use a jumper wire to connect it to ground.
3. Remove the harness plug from the coolant temperature sensor (simulating a cold engine).
4. With the ignition ON, differential pressure regulator current should be 80 - 100 mA.
5. Operate the starter for 2 - 3 seconds and leave the ignition ON.
6. Differential pressure regulator current should increase to at least 120 mA for 30 - 60 seconds, then return to normal.
