Digifant
1. Disconnect harness connector from air flow sensor. Terminal designations for the sensor are 1 through 4, right to left.
2. Measure resistance between terminals 3 and 4 on air flow sensor. Resistance indicated should be between 500 and 1000 ohms.
3. Measure the resistance between terminals 2 and 3 and move the air flow sensor flap. The resistance should vary as the air flow meter flap is moved. If a binding is felt when the air flow sensor flap is moved, clean the sensor. If binding persists, replace the air flow sensor.
4. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 4. Check the chart below for the resistance values. Note the resistance varies with the temperature.
32°F (0°C)............5,000-6,500 Ohms
68°F (20°C)...........2,250-3,000 Ohms
104°F (40°C)..........1,000-1,500 Ohms
140°F (60°C)..........550-650 Ohms
176°F (80°C)..........275-375 Ohms
212°F (100°C).........150-250 Ohms
If the resistance of the air flow sensor does not match the values given above, replace the air flow sensor.
