Starting with January 1989 production, the Onboard Diagnostic System (OBD) has been eliminated until further notice.

A very limited number of Digifant 11 control units are available for pre-January 1989 production vehicles, to prevent the OBD light from illuminating intermittently.

The modified OBD control units are identified by a yellow sticker on the outer casing. Contact your Product support specialist for repair information.

This type of ECU also requires a new reset procedure, as follows:


OBD reset procedure

^ switch ignition OFF

^ disconnect (blue) coolant temperature sensor
harness connector

^ press and hold down the OBD rocker switch

^ switch ON ignition

^ continue depressing the rocker switch for at
least 5 seconds

^ switch OFF ignition switch

^ reconnect coolant temperature sensor harness
connector
