SUBJECT: SERVICE ACTION CAMPAIGN PV
Dear Volkswagen Owner:
This letter is to inform you that we would like to retrofit some 1988 model year Volkswagen Jetta and God vehicles equipped with automatic transmission. Our records show that your vehicle is one of the vehicles affected.
It has been found that the securing bolts holding the starter to the engine could loosen. If that happens, the starter's electrical ground connection may become impaired and the car will then be difficult to start.
Remedy We would like to correct this problem by retrofitting your
vehicle with an additional bracket in order to avoid a potential repair and inconvenience to you in the future.
Your Action Please contact the Service Department of your authorized
Volkswagen dealer for an appointment so that this work can be performed as soon as possible. The work will take approximately one-half hour and will, of course, be free of charge to you.
We regret any inconvenience this matter may cause you; however, we are confident that you would want to have your car updated as soon as possible.
