Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair
To remove instrument panel (Cabriolet only):
1. Remove the screws that secure the heating and ventilation control head, shown in Fig. 1
2. Remove the ashtray. Remove the four retaining screws for the center console and move the console back slightly.
3. Remove the two instrument panel air vents. Use a screwdriver to press in the retaining springs shown in Fig. 2, and pry the vent out.
4. Remove the kneebar by removing the eight nuts and bolts at either end. See Fig. 3. Remove the left and right lower trim panels from underneath the instrument panel by unclipping them.
5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector and the screws shown in Fig. 4 and Fig. 5. Pull the instrument panel off of its retaining clips and remove it to the right.
Installation is the reverse of removal. Torque the bolts and nuts for the kneebar to 21 Nm (15 ft lb)
