Fig. 3 Airbag Unit Electrical Connector Location:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and cover negative terminal during work on airbag unit.
2. Disconnect RED voltage supply connector marked ``airbag'', located behind instrument panel, then wait 20 minutes for airbag system capacitor to discharge prior to performing any service on system.
3. Remove No. 30 torx head screws on both sides of steering wheel.
4. Disconnect airbag unit from steering wheel carefully and tilt downward.
5. Disconnect electrical connector from airbag unit, Fig. 3, then remove air bag unit.
6. Do not place removed airbag unit face down on vinyl horn pad side. Always rest on its metal housing.
7. Connect electrical connector to airbag unit, then position airbag unit in steering wheel.
8. Install and torque torx head bolts to 89 inch lbs.
9. Connect voltage supply connector, then ensure that no one is in vehicle and connect battery ground cable.
