Emission Control Systems: Adjustments

1. Ensure engine oil temperature is a minimum of 176°F. Radiator cooling fan must come on at least once.
2. All electrical accessories and A/C should be switched Off.
3. Disconnect any pressure measuring devices.
4. If any injection lines were loosened or replaced, raise engine speed above 3000 RPM several times and allow to idle for a minimum of two minutes.
5. Radiator fan should not be running during checking or adjustment.
6. Exhaust system must be tight and not leaking.
7. Idle stabilization system functioning properly. Turn ignition switch to On position, idle stabilizer valve must hum and vibrate.
8. Ensure throttle switches are functioning properly.
