Install Deflector Plate SEC. B

Section B - Install Deflector Plate

^ Remove existing warm air deflector plate, discard and install new plate (037 253 041 E) on all vehicles except 1992 model vehicles with PF engine (dual exhaust pipe) after VIN _ _ N _ 033234, then install new plate (037 253 041 F)

NOTE: Up to VIN _ _ _ L 006600 (RV Engine) and VIN _ _ _ N _ 033233 (PF Engine) three additional brackets are required; install as follows:





^ Remove the right outer intake manifold bolt -A-; install bracket -1- (051 253 084 D); and torque bolt 24 Nm (18ftlb)

^ Remove the two intake manifold bolts -B- between cylinders # 3 & # 4; install bracket -2- (037 253 084 A) with stud on bracket upward; and torque bolts 24 Nm (18ft lb)

^ Remove two lower exhaust manifold nuts -D- for cylinders # 3 & # 4; install bracket -3- (051 253 084) with studs on bracket downward; and torque nuts to Nm(8ft lb)

^ Remove the lower nut -E- securing the right support between the intake and exhaust manifolds

ON VEHICLES WITH DUAL EXHAUST PIPE (PF ENGINE) THE STUD AND NUT -E- MUST BE REMOVED. A NEW LONGER STUD (N 044 411 5) ALONG WITH WASHERS WILL BE NEEDED TO PROVIDE CORRECT ATTACHING HEIGHT.





^ Install new warm air deflector plate onto brackets and over stud at support using nut (N 902 002 1), washer (N 011 558 1) and torque to 11 Nm (8 ft lb)

^ Proceed to Section C
