Condition
The 2.0L 16V Volume Air Flow (VAF) Sensor Position Sensor, Part No. 051 133 471, has been superceded to Part No. 051 133 471 A.
The new Sensor, Part No. 051 133 471 A, has gold electrical contacts and can be found on 1993 model year vehicles.
The Sensor, Part No. 051 133 471, is used on all 2.0L 16V engines through model year 1992 and does not have gold contacts.
Service
When VAF Sensor, Part No. 051 133 471 is ordered, it will be superceded to
Part No. 051 133 471 A and a set of three gold terminal connectors, Part No. 903 352 07, will be supplied for installation.
When VAF Sensor Position Sensor, Part No. 051 133 471 A is ordered, it will NOT be supplied with the gold terminal connectors. If the mating connectors of the wiring harness are not gold then the three terminal connectors, Part No. N903 352 07, need to be ordered to complete the installation of this component.

Included in the Roadside Assistance portion of the program is towing service to the nearest authorized Volkswagen retailer provided by U.S.A.C.Inc./M.D.
In the event that a covered vehicle requires towing service, U.S.A.C. Inc./M.D. is to be called at the following toll-free number:

This number may be called 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
U.S.A.C. Inc./M.D. will dispatch a local towing service operator, and have the vehicle towed to the nearest Volkswagen retailer.
In the event the customer or retailer calls a towing service directly, without contacting U.S.A.C. Inc./M.D., you may submit a warranty claim for the towing expense. However, U.S.A.C. Inc./M.D. has placed a limit of $50 per incident. In addition, you are to advise the customer of the proper procedures for future reference. Additional towing claims will not be accepted through WIN. The towing amount is to be claimed in the "TOWING" field of the WIN claim. All towing claims will be reviewed by your Warranty Claim Adjuster who may request supporting documentation.
