Federal Vehicles (Digifant II)
Throttle Switches:
The throttle switches, which are mounted on the throttle housing, are a pair of parallel wired micro switches.
The information provided by the switches is used by the Digifant II control unit to calculate the appropriate values for the operations of idle stabilization, full throttle enrichment, deceleration fuel shut-off, and activation of special ignition timing maps.
The Digifant II control unit supplies a reference voltage to the throttle switches. When the throttle plates are closed the idle switch returns the voltage to the control unit unchanged, recognized as an idle condition. When the throttle plate is opened slightly, opening the idle switch circuit and interrupting the reference voltage, the Digifant II control recognizes a non idle condition. As the throttle position nears wide-open (within approx. 10°) the full throttle switch closes and the Digifant II control unit recognizes a full throttle condition,
