Installation
***FOR INFORMATION NOT INCLUDED HERE, REFER TO TSB # 309304, DATED JUNE 15 1993***.1. Lightly lubricate the input shaft splines with lithium grease or equivalent.
2. Position the transaxle on the engine, being careful not to damage any of the clutch components.
NOTE: Check that the large clutch plate is correctly positioned. If necessary, use a wrench on the crankshaft pulley to align the splines of the main shaft to the splines of the clutch disc.
3. Install the lower transaxle to engine mounting bolts, and then install the upper bolts.
4. Torque the M12 bolts to 80 Nm (60 ft lb).
5. Install the left transaxle mount, but do not fully tighten.
6. Reconnect the drive axles to the transaxle drive flanges. Torque the 8mm 12-point socket head bolts to 45 Nm (33 ft lb).
7. Install and torque the large and small clutch cover plate bolts to 9 Nm (78 in lb).
8. Install the rear transaxle/engine mount, but do not fully tighten the nuts and bolts.
9. Install the starter. Torque bolts to 60 Nm (44 ft lb).
10. Install the reverse gear/upshift light switch and attach its connector. Torque bolts to 10 Nm (87 in lb). Install the plastic plug in the timing check hole.
11. Reconnect the shift mechanism and loosely install the clutch cable to the release lever.
12. Connect the speedometer cable to the transaxle housing.
Engine Support Tool:
13. Remove the engine support from the vehicle.
14. Reconnect the battery negative terminal and the ground strap.
15. Align the engine and transaxle mounts.
16. With the mounts aligned, torque all the bolts and nuts properly, and adjust the clutch pedal freeplay. Clutch Cable

18. Refill the transaxle with fluid before starting or towing the vehicle.
