Throttle Valve And Switch:

The throttle switch, which is mounted on the throttle body, is a small ON/OFF micro switch. The information provided by the switch is used by the Digifant II control unit to calculate the appropriate values for the operation of deceleration fuel shut-off, and activation of special ignition timing maps.

The Digifant II control unit supplies a reference voltage to the throttle switch. When the throttle plates are closed the idle switch returns the voltage to the control unit unchanged, recognizing an idle condition. When the throttle plate is opened slightly, the idle switch circuit opens and interrupts the reference voltage, the Digifant II control recognizes a non idle condition.
