RESISTANCE TEST

Throttle Valve And Switch:

1. With the ignition "OFF", disconnect the throttle switch connector and connect a suitable volt/ohm meter between the two terminals of the switch plug. Set the volt/ohm meter to ohms.
2. Close the throttle fully.

^ The measurement should be less than 0.5 ohms (continuity).

3. Open the throttle (off idle).

^ The measurement should be infinite ohms (no continuity).

4. If the throttle switch is properly adjusted (refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES) and the correct measurements are not obtained the throttle switch assembly is defective. Replace the throttle switch assembly.

VOLTAGE SUPPLY TEST

1. Turn the ignition switch "ON".

2. With a suitable volt/ohm meter measure the voltage between the two terminals at the throttle switch harness connector.

^ The correct measurement should be approx. 5 volts.

3. If the voltage is not correct switch the ignition "OFF".

4. Reconnect the throttle switch connector.
5. Disconnect the Digifant II control unit harness connector.
6. Measure the resistance between terminal 6 and 11 of the control unit harness connector.

^ The correct measurement should be less than 0.5 ohms (continuity).

If the correct measurement is obtained replace the Digifant II control unit.
If the correct measurement is not obtained continue.

7. Disconnect the throttle switch harness connector and bridge the two terminals.
8. Measure the resistance between terminal 6 and 11 of the control unit harness connector.

^ The correct measurement should be less than 0.5 ohms (continuity).

If the correct measurement is not obtained repair or replace the Digifant II control unit harness.
