Condition

Since the introduction of acrylic protection on German produced models, a substantial increase of clear coat repairs due to runs, sags and clear coat peeling have been incorrectly diagnosed and reported.

Investigation of the vehicles revealed that the acrylic coating had not been completely removed. The remaining acrylic runners and sags were then mistakenly identified as clear coat imperfections.

Service

In the interest of avoiding unnecessary warranty costs for paint repairs of clear coat imperfections, soak/wipe area of suspected clear coat imperfection with isopropyl alcohol. If the suspect imperfection changes or begins to dissolve, continue application until all of the acrylic is removed.
