The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has adopted procedures, requiring manufacturers and importers, to accurately record warranty repairs affecting emissions' performance, and to file appropriate reports.

To allow us to identify and analyze components reported as defective by the repairing dealer with minimum delay, any components replaced under any VWoA warranty by a California dealer, must be separately identified by tag.

To simplify separate identification, a new Warranty Part Tag has been developed. The new tag is similar to the existing Warranty Part Tag except that the back of the hard copy of the tag has been changed to green.

NOTE: The new California Warranty Part Tag is to be used to identify ALL parts replaced under warranty by ALL authorized VW dealers in the State of California ONLY.

Tags may be ordered through regular literature order procedures under the new service literature number W42-997-116-C. Please remember that these tags are available in bundles of 50 only. For ordering purposes, quantity 1 = 50 tags. The dealer price is $4.00 per bundle of 50.

Dealers may continue to use their existing stock of the standard VWoA Warranty Part Tag until the on-hand supply is exhausted.
