Check and Repair Procedure

RW RECALL

Check/install Preheating Tube-Support Bracket

WORK PROCEDURE

A. Check for Preheating Tube
Support Bracket

- Open hood





Check if support bracket is mounted to the engine compartment's right front shock tower, securing the routing of the preheating tube

- If the bracket is present, no further work is required

- Close hood

If the preheating tube support bracket is not present, proceed to Step B

B. Check/Replace Brake Line

Protect right front fender with cover

Remove air intake tube between air filter and throttle body

Check right front brake line in the vicinity below the preheating tube for possible chafing damage

If no chafing damage is visible, proceed to Step C - Install

Preheating Tube Support Bracket

^ If brake line shows chafing damage, proceed as follows:

- Disconnect preheating tube

- Disconnect and remove right front brake line

- Install new brake line, part number
191 611 996B

- Bleed brakes (front right and rear left), using power bleeder, US1116 or similar

- Top-off brake fluid in brake fluid reservoir to maximum mark

- Reconnect preheating tube

- Continue to Step C

C. Install Preheating Tube Support
Bracket





Locate two 8 mm bolts on right side shock tower

- Remove top bolt nut completely and loosen nut of the lower bolt





Attach new securing bracket, part number 191 129 648D, to the shock tower's 8 mm bolts

- Tighten 8 mm nuts

- Reinstall air intake tube

- Close hood
