Condition
A single clunking noise heard in front suspension due to lateral stresses against the wheel bearing causing the bearing to abruptly shift in the wheel bearing housing.
This noise occurs due to a lack of grease on the outer surface of the wheel bearing and inner surface of bearing housing.
^ Primarily occurs when accelerating or braking on sharp turns.
^ Is most often reported after backing out of a parking space and then moving forward with front wheels turned in the opposite direction.

Install wheel bearing kit:

Note:
When replacing front wheel bearings, follow instructions in Repair Manual and add the following operation:
- Prior to pressing new wheel bearing into wheel bearing housing, apply a liberal coat of Moly grease, Part No. G 000 633 to the outer diameter of the wheel bearing and the inner diameter of the bearing housing.
