Subject: Service Action Campaign RC 1990/1991 Model Volkswagen Golf/Jetta Convenience Tools


Dear Volkswagen Dealer:

Please be informed that Volkswagen United States, Inc. will initiate a service action campaign involving some Mexican production 1990/1991 model Volkswagen Jetta and Golf vehicles. The vehicles affected are within the following vehicle identification number ranges:

Golf 3VW___1G_LM030775 to 3VW___1G_MM005300

Jetta 3VW___1G_LM031275 to 3VW___1G_MM009243

Problem Description

Some of the affected vehicles were shipped from the Factory without convenience tools consisting of a screwdriver, a 10 x 13 open end wrench and a hub cap removal clip.

Remedial Action

Place the pre-supplied tool package into each vehicle affected by this action.

Customer Notification

VWUS, Inc. will mail a small package containing the missing tools and a customer letter to each known owner on or about March 15, 1991. A copy of the customer letter is enclosed for your information.

Dealer Inventory Vehicles

VWUS, Inc. will mail to you for each affected vehicle in your inventory a package containing the tools which should immediately be placed into each vehicle identified with the appropriate VIN which is shown on the mailing label.
