Ignition Rotor: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove the distributor cap.
2. Check rotor for cracks or any signs of burning, or pitting:
a) at the tip
b) at the resistor (between the contact points)
c) at the center contact
Replace the rotor if any signs of damage are found.

Testing Rotor:





3. Check the resistance between the contacts. Reading should be:

860 - 1260 ohms

If reading is incorrect, replace and retest with new rotor.
4. Reinstall distributor cap.
