Fuel Tank: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Tank:

Charcoal Canister:

- To leak test the Fuel Tank, make sure that the fuel filler cap is tight. Disconnect the Fuel Tank vent line from the charcoal canister (right side of engine compartment under the air flow sensor and air cleaner housing). It is the smaller hose connected to the charcoal canister. Lightly and slowly presserize the disconnected vent line with a hand pump to about:

0.63 psi (1.3 in. Hg)

- After five (5) minutes, the Fuel Tank and its related components and hoses should still hold about:

0.50 psi (1.0 in. Hg)

- If not, check for leaks at the fuel filler cap and in the vent system between the charcoal canister and the Fuel Tank.
