Dear Volkswagen Dealer:
This is to inform you of a service action campaign involving some 1990 and 1991 California model Volkswagen Passat and Jetta GLI vehicles. The vehicles involved are within the following vehicle identification number range:
Passat W V W___31_LE000001 to W V W___31_ME016686
Jetta GLI W V W___1G_LW000001 to W V W___1G_MW031905
Problem Description Volkswagen has determined that some 1990 and 1991 California model Volkswagen Passat and Jetta GLI vehicles were inadvertently manufactured with an incorrect vacuum hose routing label.
Remedial Action Each affected vehicle needs to be retrofitted with a new vacuum hose routing label.
Customer Notification VWUS, Inc. will notify all known owners of affected vehicles directly by first class mail on or about November 7, 1990. Each letter will have enclosed the new vacuum hose routing label, installation instructions and an "Owner Reply Card". Owners will be asked to affix the label themselves or seek the help of an authorized Volkswagen dealer. The self-addressed "Owner Reply Card" is used to confirm that the service action campaign has been completed. Copy of the notification letter is enclosed for your information.
Inventory Vehicles Please ensure that each affected vehicle in your inventory will be corrected prior to sale. We will supply one label for each individual vehicle identification number, including inventory vehicles.

Time Allowance The time necessary to affix the label is 10 T.U.
