Condition

Excessive vibration or droning from the engine/drivetrain at 2800 rpm or between 60 and 70 mph.

Verify that this condition originates with the engine/drivetrain rather than from out-of-round tires or tire imbalance.

Service

- Check exhaust system alignment. Refer to pages 26-1 through 26-5 of the Repair Manual.

- Loosen motor mounts and subframe bolts.

- Start engine, let engine run briefly then shut off. Repeat this several times.

- Tighten motor mount and subframe bolts.

- Test drive vehicle.

If the vibration still exists:

- Replace right engine mount with Part No. 535 199 262

- Replace subframe dampener weight with Part No. 357 199 322B

Note

The new dampener weight is 14 mm narrower than the weight it replaces.
