Condition

In production, 4 different speaker systems were installed.

^ 4 - passive speaker system up to 6/90 production

^ 6 - passive speaker system as of 7/90 production

^ 6 - active speaker system up to VIN 31 L 220 000

^ 6 - active speaker system as of VIN 31 L 220 001

Speakers of different systems should not be mixed otherwise the sound reproduction may be impaired.

Service

In case of customer complaint, check if correct speakers are installed.

In case of customer complaints of buzzing rear speakers on vehicles up to VIN 31 LE 220 000 replace both door speaker/amplifiers (left and right).

In case of door speaker/amplifier replacement on vehicles up to VIN 31 LE 220 000, replace the other door speaker also if Part No. 357 035 403 E or D is installed.
