Condition

Manual transmission vehicles have a throttle valve housing which may have delay between the actuation of the idle switch and the actuation of the primary throttle plate.

Criteria





A 2 mm gap (see illustration 25-A284) may exist between the idle switch actuation lever and the throttle plate. This gap may cause a hesitation on the take off and/or reduced responsiveness at steady speeds.





To eliminate gap, a clip, Part No. 051 133 806 A, see Fig. 25-A285, is to be installed on the actuator arm.

CAUTION
DO NOT install clip when no gap is present.

^ check idle switch operation per Repair Group 25 Service Microfiche, replace if necessary





^ install clip, Part No. 051 133 806 A (Fig. 25-A286) in direction of arrow
^ use needle nose pliers





^ bend nose "A" (Fig. 25-A287) carefully to retain clip in place
^ use needle nose pliers

^ verify proper operation of the idle switch, adjust as required
