CHECKING SHIFT POINTS 096 TRANSMISSION


Test requirements

- Carry out On Board Diagnostic program
- Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory interrogated
- System in basic setting
- Check transmission fluid (ATF) level
- Check engine settings

Transmission shifts too early or too late into the next gear

When checking the shift points one should note that the Speedometer can deviate from the specified figure with in the permissible tolerance.

In the tables, the gear shifts are listed according to transmission code letters.

H = Hydraulic shift
M = Mechanical shift

On vehicles with the electronic program switch in the Transmission Control Module (TCM), the "ECO" or "Sport" program will be automatically selected by the TCM according to the speed at which the Accelerator Pedal is operated.

For the electronic Transmission Range (TR) Program Switch -E122- only the kick down shift points are given.

To check the shift points connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST).
