Section 1 - Make Sure You Have Enough Information

1. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION

Before beginning your work on the vehicle, make sure you have a complete symptom description from the customer such as:

^ What is the symptom?

^ When does it occur?

^ Is this the first repair?

^ Has any other work been recently performed on the vehicle?

Your customer contact person may wish to use the Engine Driveability Diagnostic Work Sheet (see sample at beginning of booklet), part number WSP 521 154 0

Avoid drawing premature conclusions. For example, don't assume that carbon deposits are not a problem because the vehicle has relatively low mileage, etc.
