UPDATED BOSCH AUTHORIZED DIESEL SERVICE DEALER DIRECTORY
An updated Bosch authorized Diesel Service Dealer Directory for the location of the nearest Bosch Diesel Service Dealer (DSD) is enclosed.
Diesel fuel injection pumps, diagnosed as malfunctioning, should continue to be sent to a Bosch authorized DSD.
Procedure:
1. VW Dealer determines that Diesel fuel injection pump is not functioning properly after checking the following, as noted in the appropriate Volkswagen repair manual:
- Accelerator cable adjustment
- Engine compression
- Full RPM range
- Airtight fuel flow to pump
- Injection pump timing
- Injector opening pressure
- Fuel cetane rating
2. Dealer removes the pump, completes a Bosch "Request for Warranty Repair" form and delivers the pump and request form to a Bosch authorized Diesel Service Dealer for repair.
If the repair is covered by the New Vehicle Warranty or the Spare Part Warranty, the Bosch DSD will submit a claim directly to Bosch. The Volkswagen Dealer should submit a claim for the R & I of the pump to VWoA, along with a copy of the Bosch "Request for Warranty Repair" form.
If the repair is covered by the VW Limited Powertrain Warranty or an Emission Warranty, the Bosch DSD will repair the pump and submit an invoice to the Volkswagen Dealer. The Volkswagen Dealer will submit a claim for the R & I AND sublet pump repair to VWoA.
If the repair cannot be warranted due to outside influence, such as fuel contamination or unauthorized adjustment, the Diesel Service Dealer will notify the repairing Volkswagen Dealer before proceeding.
Replace the Diesel fuel injection pump only if the nearest Bosch DSD is not within a reasonable distance from the Volkswagen Dealer, and after the initial diagnosis proves the pump is not operating properly.
"Request for Warranty Repair" forms can be obtained from the DSD as required. A sample form is included in this bulletin.
