Section C - Check and Install Components^ Prior to reinstallation of warm air hose between air cleaner and warm air deflector plate, check condition of warm air hose and replace, if necessary, with new warm air hose (027 129 627 E) using (2) new clamps (N 024 504 4)
^ Install strainer (191 129 054) to throttle body by gently tapping edges
^ Disconnect vacuum lines to thermoswitch on the side of the air cleaner, then unclip upper half of air cleaner, remove it and the air cleaner element
^ Carefully remove retainer, thermoswitch, and gasket; install new thermoswitch (035 129 630 B) and gasket (113 129 832); reinstall retainer (old thermoswitch and gasket are to be discarded)
NOTE: Install thermoswitch with the brass port toward air filter element
CHECK OPERATION OF THE PRE-HEAT VALVE FLAP CHECK CONDITION OF ELBOWS (arrows in illusfrallon)
^ Connect hand vacuum pump US 8026 to the vacuum line leading to the pre-heat valve, activate pump until flap begins moving
- Check for ease of movement (smooth movement from full open to full closed position, showing no binding or hesitation)
- Flap must contact cold air port when vacuum is applied
^ Reinstall air cleaner element and reassemble air cleaner
^ Reconnect vacuum line from pre-heat valve to the brass port on the thermoswitch
^ Test vacuum line from throttle body to thermoswitch
^ Reconnect the vacuum source line to the black port on the thermoswitch
^ Reinstall air hose between air cleaner and throttle body, and reconnect the electrical connector to the mass air flow sensor
^ Remove crankcase breather hose between pressure regulating valve and throttle body, clean, and reinstall
Important Check proper function of intake air pre-heating system at each maintenance service.
^ Clean top of air cleaner; affix "Future Maintenence" label (W60 000 001) on horizontal surface of air filter, clearly visible to technicians
^ Close hood
IMPORTANT
- Check condition of engine oil and record of last oil change
- Recommend oil change, if necessary
