Condition

Vehicles equipped with high performance sport tires may experience impaired traction on severe ice and snow-covered surfaces.

Service

Winter tires

Should a customer decide to purchase and install winter tires, refer to the VW Parts and Service Information book "Goodyear Tire Program".

Snow chains

Snow chains may be fitted to the drive wheels.

Use only fine-link chains which stand a maximum 15 mm higher (including fastener) than the tread and the inner side wall of the tire.

Note
Maximum permissible speed with fitted snow chains is 30 mph.

Remove snow chains for long, snow-free stretches of roadway as they may damage and wear out tires quickly.
