096 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (AG4) REPLACEMENT POLICY
Malfunctioning 096 Passat and Corrado automatic transmissions ( AG4 ) must be replaced with a genuine remanufactured transmission except where the vehicle to be repaired is new and unused.
Prior approval is no longer required before warranty replacement of a 096 (AG4) automatic transmission.
A copy of the VAG 1551 Diagnostic Tester printout documenting the reason for replacement must be attached to the repair order hard copy and may be requested in support of a claimed repair.
NOTE: A photocopy of the thermal paper printout should be used to create a lasting record as the thermal paper itself becomes unreadable over time.
