Bracket Removal and Installation

A/C Compressor, Mounting






CAUTION: Part numbers are for reference only. Always check with your Parts Department for latest parts information.

The A/C compressor bracket can be removed and installed without discharging the A/C system.

Replace all self-locking fasteners with new parts.

1 - Bolt (M8 x 90 mm)
2 - A/C compressor (Sanden SD 709)
install with hex head bolt (arrow) on top
3 - Nut (M8) - 30 Nm (22 ft lb)
self-locking, replace with Part No. N 011 008 18 and washer, Part No. N 011 525 13
4 - Bracket
5 - Front bracket
6 - Bolt (M1O x 30 mm) - 40 Nm (29.5 ft lb)
7 - Nuts (M8) - 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
tighten in the following order:
nuts for collar studs 10, nut for collar stud 11 (without bushings 12 and 18), nut for collar stud 11 (with bushings 12 and 18)
8 - Power steering pump and A/C compressor bracket
9 - Bushing
10 - Stud (2x) - 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
self-locking, replace with Part No. 051 260 821 A
11 - Stud (2x) - 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
self-locking, replace with Part No. 051 260 821
12 - Stud bushing
install bushing 12 onto stud 11 up to collar, then install bushing 18 into bushing 12
13 - Bolt with washer (M8 x 135 mm)
14 - Bolt with washer (M8 x 85 mm) - 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
15 - Bolt with washer (M8 x 45 mm) - 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
16 - Bolt with washer (M8 x 85 mm) - 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
17 - Rear bracket
18 - Cone bushing
install over stud 11 and into bushing 12
19 - Bushing
20 - Nut (M8) - 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
self-locking, replace with Part No. N 022 146 4
21 - Bolt (M8 x 32 mm)
22 - Bolt (M8 x 18 mm - 2x) - 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
23 - Eye bolt (M8)
24 - Nut (M8) - 30 Nm (22 ft lb)
self-locking, replace with Part No. N 011 008 18 and washer, Part No. N 011 525 13
