Troubleshooting table for 4-speed automatic transmission
The following work is to be carried out, as described in Golf, Jetta, Cabrio, Corrado, Passat 096 or EuroVan 098 Repair Manuals before attempting to find causes of damage.
^ Checking ATF level and if necessary topping up
^ Interrogating Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory
^ Reading measured value block
^ Correcting electric/electronic malfunctions
Note:
Check wiring and connections according to the wiring diagram and repair if necessary Note especially the following points and correct any malfunctions found.
1. - Dirty or corroded contacts
2. - Transmission connector (10 pin)
3. - Open circuit in wiring harness
4. - Wiring connectors fully engaged
